Phase I of any construction project in the Diocese of Harrisburg is to submit a Concept Study to the Vicar General's office. That was done on Thursday, May 7, 2015. "The purpose of the Concept Study is to first investigate ideas for a project in-house without professional help: then narrow the possibilities and preliminary assess the parish/school ability to attempt a project." The Concept Study was completed by members of the Parish Pastoral Council and the Parish Finance Council. If permission is granted, then we proceed to the next step which is the Feasibility Study. At that point, we will need to procure professional architectural and contracting firms to prepare the Feasibility Study. Currently there is no plan to have temporary rooms at the Grandview Road location for St. Joseph School, SRI, scouts, or any other programs or ministries of the parish. The cost to lease even 2 modular units (four rooms) is prohibitive; over $400,000 for five years.
We do intend to build an addition to the Monsignor Gribbin Center, and the design and the number of rooms are still under discussion.
