Here are some things we are currently working on in each class:
PK4 - We are continuing with the desktop computers in the computer lab. The kids are becoming experts at the mouse and keyboard! We use on-line learning games about the alphabet, numbers, shapes, and puzzles.
Kindergarten - Similar to PK4, Kindergarten has moved into the computer lab in order to get more practice with desktops.
Grade 1 - Using Chromebooks, we are learning keyboarding skills using a free on-line app called Typetastic.
Grade 2 - We just finished our ‘Zoo Project’ using Google Docs. The children are learning basic document formatting and photo insertion. For Easter, we have been using PhotoStudio practicing how to edit a jpeg file.
Grade 3 - We are continuing with coding using CodeSpark Academy.
Grade 4 - We are collaborating with Social Studies and building a Google Slide presentation on a famous Pennsylvanian.
Grade 5 - We just finished a couple projects involving Google Slides and are now starting several coding projects using Scratch. We are creating our own adventure starting with a storyboard to help build and organize our design.
Grade 6 - We have been working on basic programming and sequencing. This is preparing the students to program our Sphero Bolt robots.
Grade 7 - We are working on Google Slides building various presentations and incorporating transitions and animations.
Grade 8 - We are going in-depth into Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets learning all about formulas, charts, conditional formatting, and pivot tables. For our final project of the school year, we will be designing and building our own websites.
