Our year certainly is flying by! As I've been making plans, I realized that we only have two more months of school! I know it seems like we've been missing many classes due to weather related delays and cancellations, but we are still well within our required number of school days for the year. PreK has several extra days built into our schedule each year, and we also come when the school schedules make-up days. I will let you know if we need to add days to the end of our school year. This week, we started learning about Lent. Fantastic Fours received ashes on Wednesday from Father McNeil. Generally, our Religion series and curriculum focus on the fact that Jesus brings new life, and we do not go into much detail about His death. However, it is referenced in some of our classes. The Terrific Threes have been working on identifying shapes, rhyming words, and numbers 1 - 10. We have been introducing capital letters as well. The children are doing a great job with these harder skills! The Fantastic Fours have been continuing to review the letters and their sounds, rhyming words and identifying the numbers 1 - 20. Each class had several fun activities planned for Dr. Seuss' birthday! We had special games and crafts. The Terrific Threes made Sneetches and painted portraits of Cat in the Hat. The Fantastic Fours dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters and completed a directed drawing portrait of the Cat in the Hat. This was a new and challenging activity. I was impressed with how well they did! We will definitely have a few more directed drawing activities this year! REMINDERS:
